Interview: 10 Questions with Krantz

Where do you think your passion for music came from?

Both my parents were very into music as I grew up. My dad’s a drummer as well so I grew up listening to him jam with his bands in the basement. I’m sure that has something to do with it.

Who are your biggest influences?

The Beatles are my number one guns. I love the swagger of T Rex and the catchy hooks of bands like Weezer.

To you, what is the most important thing about playing live?

Putting on a righteous show and showcasing your music. I’m all about a good live show, but the song is what’s the most important to me, so it’s nice to be able to introduce people to em or sing along with the fans.

What is the one song you had wished you had written?

So many, but at the moment, I’m gonna say…Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. Such a good hook.

What are the biggest lessons learned over the years?

Shit, I feel like I haven’t learned anything other than just gotta keep being true to yourself.

Are there any bands/artists that you recommend that don’t much attention?

Krantz ;)

If there is one thing you would like to achieve in your career, what would it be?

Really wanting to get over and tour Europe. Definitely, feel like our sound and style would go over well on that side of the pond. Have only been touring the states lately though.

What’s the one thing you hate about touring and the music industry in general?

I find these days more than ever, it’s hard to get people out to a show. Everything is so accessible through social media and streaming, it’s losing its lustre to go out to discover new music.

What are your biggest interests away from music?

Big golfer and gardener. Guitars, Golf, and Gardens baby. Rock and roll huh?

What is the hardest thing you have had to overcome and how did you overcome it?

It’s just tough in general to be an artist who creates something that you love, and sometimes you got to realize that doesn’t mean everyone’s gonna love it. You got to learn how to take rejection but just keep on truckin'….
